II. ROUTE- PERMANENT LITERARY EXHIBITION
The exhibition “Places of meeting in the literature of South Bohemia and the Eastern Bohemian Forest” is located on the first floor of the big convent. The exhibition takes a survey of the literary activities in South Bohemia and on the border of Bohemia, Austria and Germany, ranging from the Middle Ages to the present time. Emphasis is put on a clear description of the ties of regional authors to particular places in the region. At the same time, the parallel co-existence of three languages (Czech, German and Latin) used in the region is observed. There are ten essential literary themes, placed in the former monk’s cells, which let us know the ties between the individual styles and genres in literature. Visitors will be enabled to have a look at familiar places from the point of view of literary history. The exhibition follows not only the documentary’s aims but also educational ones, and is therefore an extraordinarily suitable supplement of school lessons for students and teachers from Bohemia, Austria and Germany. To prepare for the exhibition tour, you may use our web site, which contain all texts.
